Consultation has concluded

Construction Snapshot is published on a quarterly basis. The information provides an overview of the Northern Territory’s construction activity for major works over $500 000. It reflects work that is both currently under construction and potential future construction-related work (within the next 12-18 months).

Construction Snapshot transferred to Infrastructure NT late 2021.

Infrastructure NT developed the new Northern Territory Infrastructure Framework, which includes the recently released Infrastructure Strategy 2022-2030 and Infrastructure Plan and Pipeline 2022. Both can be viewed at https://dipl.nt.gov.au/strategies. The Framework also includes an Infrastructure Audit which is now in development.

As part of the Infrastructure Framework, Construction Snapshot is also being reviewed for use, purpose and alignment.

The new Plan and Pipeline differentiates between anticipated investment that will occur in the next five years that will impact the Territory’s economy (Investment Portfolio), unfunded proposals that are in the planning phase or have been identified as enabling an outcome (Enabling Infrastructure Plan) and funded projects that will be delivered in the short term (Infrastructure Pipeline).

Construction Snapshot is a collation of information from regular source data within Development Consent Applications, Building Permits, Occupancy Permits, and government delivered projects through the Department of Infrastructure, Planning and Logistics, Land Development Corporation, Power and Water Corporation and Territory Generation.

Projects delivered by Councils, Community and Industry are included as provided by those organisations. Contributions to Construction Snapshot are invited however are not compulsory. To ensure Construction Snapshot remains current and relevant for the intended audience, Council and Industry participation is needed.

The new Infrastructure Pipeline includes lists of funded projects. As such, we are reviewing the relevance and effectiveness of the Construction Snapshot.
